Young man near Acle seeking respite care @ £62.15 per night sleep and £13 p/h - Norwich - NR13
Job Reference (a96a393b)
Job Purpose:
I am a happy and friendly young man with Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) who is seeking a respite carer for one night sleep (from 10pm to 8am) followed by 10 hours (8am to 6pm) the consecutive day, twice a month. It would be preferable if this were to take place on weekends, either on a Friday night to Saturday day, or a Saturday night to Sunday day. A carer who is able to accommodate this at their home address would be ideal.
Due to my PDD I can struggle with personal care, as such I require someone who can ensure I brush my teeth, wash my hands after using the bathroom and assist me while I bath/shower by miming the actions, as this helps me to remember each step. My speech is very limited but I understand more than I can express.
For my own safety I must be accompanied when I leave the house and monitored while inside the home. Due to my Autism there are times when I can become overwhelmed and have meltdowns. These do not last very long however, and I am usually able to self-regulate after a couple of minutes. As such someone with a calm demeanour, who understands the need to give me space in these moments would be ideal.
I am an active young man who loves going out. I enjoy swimming, walks on the beach and along the river. I love boat trips and going to the cinema, as well as eating out, especially for burgers and pizza. I also enjoy watching Disney videos on my IPad, as well as drawing and music. Someone who can take me out for activities, such as above, would be ideal.
