Job Description:  Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is advisable to refer to these when submitting your application and advise of the days/hours you are available.

Job Purpose: I am a lady in my early 60s with a learning disability, causing limited vocabulary and understanding. I am usually quite shy until I get to know you, and I can become quite anxious, so full guidance will be provided in how to tell when I’m getting upset and how to best distract me. Your role will be to support me to attend kidney dialysis sessions on alternate Saturdays and keep me company. 

Location: Attleborough, NR17

Details: 
• Driving me to and from the Bowthorpe Kidney Centre in your own vehicle, or we can take a taxi if you don’t have a vehicle that you can use for work purposes. 
• Encouraging me to keep calm and still during dialysis. 
• Keeping me company during dialysis – I particularly enjoy having my nails painted. 
• Assisting me to take oral medication. 

Personal Specification: 

Essential:
• Quiet and easy-going personality. 
• Patient with an understanding of people with learning disabilities. 

Desirable:
• Ideally be a car owner/driver with suitable business use insurance. 

Summary Terms and Conditions
- The rate of pay for this position is £14.69 per hour.
- Hours and times of work as follows: Temporary 6 hours a week to be worked on alternate Saturdays from 11:30am-5:30pm. 
- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
- Access to free FLICK training for employer workers.
- If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
- You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role. 

The post is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
- Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
