Support Workers required to support a gentleman who lives in Bishop Middleham, who has been left with language issues, significant right sided weakness and some cognitive deficit following a stroke.

The person you would be supporting requires hoisting into and out of bed.

 Hours /Wage

Approximately 7 hours per week £13 per hour

We are looking for a small team of workers who will be supporting this gentleman on a 2:1 basis as two carers are required for all transfers.

Calls required are 8 am – 8.30, 12 – 12.30 and 7.30 – 8.00, 7 days per week.  These hours will be broken down into shifts hopefully shared between 3 workers, so please let us know what hours you would be available for on your application.

Duties

Am call – full body wash, dressing, positional change/transfers if needed

Lunchtime call – support with personal care and positional changes/transfers if needed

Pm call – prepare for bed, personal care, dressing and hoist into bed

Personal and catheter care may be required on all visits as the gentleman is doubly incontinent.

Additional Requirements/Information

Experience with using a hoist preferred

Experience of dealing with people who have had a stroke preferred

Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost
