Support worker needed to work with a teenager with autism in Leeds 11 - LEEDS - LS1

To provide a safe level of care for my teenage son who is autistic and non verbal.  He uses a visual timetable and you would be expected to be able to use this way of communicating.   Due to his stature and strength  he can become challenging therefore we would like the support worker to either have knowledge or experience of autism.  You would have knowledge of makaton and be willing to learn this.  You would prompt and asisst with personal care.   
Initially you would work in the home but ultimately develop his sense of independence in the community attending clubs etc.  The hours are usually on a weekend but you would if possible be asked to attend appointments advance notice would be given.
You would have a understanding for the need for confidentiality and undertake a dbs check prior to starting work.  You will be offered online training.
