Support Worker for a Teenager in Crook - Crook - DL15

Support Worker required to support James aged 14years who live in Crook Area.

 

James is a chatty, loves to socialise teenage boy who enjoys to be out and about talking to others and having fun.

James is wheelchair bound paralysed from the waist down with Spina bifida and hydrocephalus (VP shunt) and a neuropathic bowel and bladder. James can become unsettled if he becomes overwhelmed and disregulated.

 

James will need support with safety crossing the roads, being safe and at times may need support pushing his wheelchair if he becomes tired.

 

Hours /Wage

6 hours per week   £    13    per hour. School holidays only.

I’m looking for someone who can do fun activities and take James out and about 2days during the holidays for 3hrs per day.

Duties

Ensure James is safe and happy, support with his wheelchair while out. Support and reassurance if he becomes upset.

 

Additional Requirements/Information

All James needs will be discussed.

Experience of working with SEN children.

First aid training completed and in date 

Preferably have a driving licence but not compulsory 

Fun, chatty approachable person.

 

 Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost
