Support worker for a teenage boy P/T@ £14.67/hr in Hexham - FTE - £28.6k - Hexham - NE46
Job Reference (a3252173)
We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support for this 14-year-old teenage boy so that he can access social and leisure activities both at home and within the local community. He has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, social communication difficulties and developmental and emotional needs, these complex needs impact on his behaviour which he struggles to regulate. He has no danger awareness and can act impulsively which puts him at significant risk.
Applicants will ideally have experience of working with young people with complex behavioural needs, in addition to Autism and ADHD so that they can support this young boy to engage in activities and improve his social skills and engage fully when in the community.
He enjoys most activities involving computers which he can use confidently and well, along with his Play Station and Switch and enjoys Geometry Dash. He has an interest in music too and this role would suit a support worker with experience and a shared interest in these hobbies. He loves water and would very much like to learn to swim, so this activity would also be something he could participate in with his support worker.
