Support Worker/Enabler for young girl 5hrs per wk @ £10.82/hr in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea - NEWBIGGIN-BY-THE-SEA - NE64

• To provide an enabling service of 5 hours per week, this may be in the family home and within the local community and local activities.   
• To have experience at dealing with a child who is cognitively impaired and can present with some challenging behaviours. 
• To understand situations that can be volatile and demonstrate you can deescalate and clam the situation down.  
• To have an understanding when the mood is changing and to avoid raised anxieties which can lead to outbursts 
• Support with age-appropriate community and leisure activities. 
• Attend local facilities including libraries, cinema, arts and crafts. 
• You will be required to always ensure the safety of this young person. 
• Ensure that you take reasonable care of your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work. 
• Using your own car may be required during the course of this employment; it must be insured for business use.

• Be able to think on your feet and act quickly

• 12 months experience with working alongside Children or the ability to demonstrate this and, working in close partnership with their Parents and families. 
• Full Training will be provided.
