 About the Role
 
 We are a private family looking for three dedicated support workers to provide 3-to-1 home-based care for our 17-year-old son.
 
 This is a hands-on, relationship-based role working in our family home in Southport.
 
 Hours and Pay £20 per hour 11:30 am–2:30 pm,
 
 Monday/ Tuesday/Thursday/Friday
 
 Plus 2 evenings per month, 3 hours each Flexible with evening scheduling.
 
 About the young person you'll be supporting
 
 Our son is 17 years old with a complex medical history, high anxiety and taking multiple medications.
 
 He has a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile and is non-speaking, though his communication is excellent and he can let you know what he needs by typing a message or showing you a picture.
 
 People tend to pick up on his language/ communication style very quickly.
 
 He was a premature baby and has complex medical needs and is autistic.
 
 He is home-based and at his best in his own environment, surrounded by his things.
 
 He is also genuinely funny, a talented artist, and has a personality that stays with you — past support workers and teachers still keep in touch.
 
 This is a demanding role, but very rewarding and enjoyable.
 
 He will make you laugh a lot with his mischief and cheeky sense of humour.
 
 What we're looking for
 
 Demonstrable experience with PDA profiles — essential.
 
 Calm, regulated, and unflappable under pressure , a good sense of humour and physically strong.
 
 Experience with complex needs and medication administration.
 
 Creative individuals who can support artistic interests without taking over.
 
 Background in mental health, Nursing, SEND etc essential
 
 Must love animals —
 
 we have a very friendly cat and dog, who our son is very attached to.
 
 Enhanced DBS required.
 
 Must be based in or able to reliably travel to Southport ( Victoria Mews area)
