I’m a woman in my 20’s living with my child and cat called ‘Shy’ in Lockleaze, Bristol. I am looking to employ a Support Worker/Personal Assistant for 8 hours per week.
I am a complex hard-working lady currently undertaking a degree course in psychology. I am diagnosed borderline personally disorder, I experience social anxiety, depression, age regression and physical symptoms which can affect my ability to walk at times. I need encouragement to access the community and build my independence.
I have a keen interest in arts and crafts, particularly resin work. I also enjoy gaming and chatting to people online.
To be suitable for this role, you would need to be understanding, kind, preceptive and empathetic towards my thoughts and feelings.
You must be willing to persevere and be resilient, prepared to try different methods to help support me.
Contracted Hours: 8hrs
Monday 10am – 2pm
Friday 10am – 2pm
There is room for small amount of flexibility, to be discussed at interview.
As a Support Worker/Personal Care Assistant your role will include
- Support me to build confidence and access the community.
- Administration tasks: correspondence, phone calls (including appts).
- Food preparation and batch cooking.
- Medication collection.
- Light domestic work.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in care promoting independence, ideally with a
background and understanding of mental health.
- Must have had two initial COVID vaccinations.
- Although I do not smoke, I do not mind if my PA is a smoker, however
this is not permitted in the home or around my child.
Desirable Criteria
- Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle.
You must legally be able to work in the UK. Proof of ID, two references and a full DBS check will be required, before anyone is hired. There will be a trial period of 12 weeks.
The position is paid at £11.30 Wages will be paid through the PAYE scheme. This is not a cash position.
