Are you caring, reliable and looking for a rewarding role supporting a young person to enjoy social and leisure activities in their local community?
A family in Ashington is seeking a Personal Assistant to support an 18-year-old young man with autism, ADHD and a moderate learning disability. He is a friendly, polite and good-humoured young man who enjoys trips to the arcade, cinema visits, gaming shops, ice cream and the occasional McDonald's outing.

This role would suit someone who can build a positive, supportive relationship while helping him develop confidence, independence and community participation in a safe and enjoyable way.

Key Responsibilities
• Supporting social and leisure activities in the community
 • Encouraging independence and confidence-building skills
 • Providing appropriate guidance and supervision to ensure safety
 • Building a positive and supportive working relationship
 • Acting as a positive role model whilst promoting choice and independence

Essential Skills & Qualities
• Experience supporting young people with autism, ADHD or learning disabilities is desirable
 • Kind, patient, reliable and trustworthy
 • A good communicator with a positive attitude
 • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
 • Able to support independence while maintaining appropriate boundaries
 • Someone who can provide companionship and positive encouragement

Hours and Pay
• 6 hours per week
 • Hours to be agreed, typically after college, at weekends, or split across two or three sessions
 • £14.67 per hour
