To support a lady who is a wheelchair user in the home and community including personal care The lady has a speech impediment therefore the person must be patient and listen carefully
24 hour shift, as arranged between us.
Rates of pay: £9.18 per hour Monday to Friday £11.74 Saturday and Sunday Sleeping rate £8.72 per hour (10pm until 7am) Job Description Non Smoker and be physically able to push me in my wheelchair Your main duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):- Location – Leeds 25 and in the community To be part of a team of personal assistants to support me with all daily living tasks. Maintain a clean and healthy living environment in my own home Personal assistants will be directed by myself at all times and will be accountable to me in all aspects of their work. You must always ask what I require and not make assumptions about any aspect of the assistance I need or how it should be completed. Promoting independence in community through supporting with activities such as going to parks,cinema,shows etc. Personal Care Assist with showering Assist with going to bed getting up and dressing Preparing cooking and eating meals Support with medication Applicants will be expected to complete a dbs check (paid by the council) Use of mobile phones is prohibited unless in an emergency.
Opening post and help with completing correspondence when needed Confidentiality is of vital importance and information should not be disclosed outside.. Attend appointments including doctors and hospital Moving and handling training will be offered plus other training which you may be paid whilst attending including some travel costs. A happy disposition and enthusiasm and flexibility are key parts of this role. A non-judgmental approach and experience in this type of field is desirable but not essential. You must be flexible reliable and trustworthy.
