Main Duties
 
To work alongside an existing and experienced Support Worker to cover the second Support Worker’s current long-term absence.  The role is to enable an 8-year-old male child withy Autism to access activities in the community on a 2:1 support basis. 

You will be required to help the child with his communication skills, his personal care and, be able to respond sensitively, positively and confidently to any changes in behavior.   

Hours  10 hours per week.  4:00pm to 6:30pm on Monday and Thursday and 5 hours on Saturday mornings.   

Rate of pay  £11.91 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.  Any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid by the employer.  

Person Specification
  The successful applicant must:
 
·       have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities 
·       have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs 
·       have a high degree of initiative 
·       be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised 
·       be flexible 
·       have a happy, positive and caring nature 
·       respect confidentiality  

Car driver required and must be used insurance for business use.  

The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
