We are seeking a new PA to join my existing care team. My name is Charlotte, im 32 years old and have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Autism, Intestinal failure & am and electric wheelchair user.
Due to my conditions I require 24/7 care. I live in my own home with my partner and pet tortoise. I am seeking a personal assistant to help me in every aspect of my daily life from getting washed and dressed, through medical tasks and working or enjoying hobbies.
Hours Available
I’m seeking a PA to cover any of the following hours:
Friday 09:30-1800
Saturday 11:00-1700
Sunday 11:00-1700
Please indicate which hours you are interested in in your application. You will still be expected to be flexible and cover for colleagues when necessary. You are able to choose to work Fridays and every other Sunday, I do not expect people to work every weekend, currently we try to share them to allow everyone weekends off.

JOB PARTICULARS
Please note this role is NOT open to Men due to the nature of the role [Exempt from Equalities Act].
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assistance with all aspects of personal care e.g. wash/dress, stoma & catheter care etc
- Assistance with medical tasks such as clinical observations e.g. blood pressure
- Assistance with preparing and administering medication via JEJ tube and care of tube.
- Assistance with IV nutrition & hydration plus IV meds (TPN) [TPN Nurses Do This - Help passing Items]
- Maintaining a habital home environment e.g. domestic tasks
- Assistance to access social environment.
- Assistance when working [I run a online handmade buisness & am a BSL interpreter when well enough]
I need assistance in all aspects of my life and this includes things such as : help getting up, showering/bathing, getting dressed/changing clothes, transferring to wheelchair, all other personal care including assistance with Ileostomy (stoma) bag, suprapubic catheter and PEG drainage bag, jej feed, TPN & IV fluids, meds etc. My condition causes a great deal of fatigue among other issues so I am not always able to get out of bed. I enjoys baking, crafting (sewing, knitting, glass, pottery etc), shopping, watching movies, growing plants and more.
Person Specification
Essential
· Must be willing and able to follow my policy on illness & work eg. COVID or infections diseases
· Excellent level of spoken English
· Good understanding of a PA’s role in enabling choice and control for disabled people
· Excellent communication skills
· Good hygiene standards -Keeping everything clean
· Strong commitment to the principles of Equality and Diversity
· Reliable, respectful, discreet, sensitive, friendly, and pro-active in the role
· Able to work quickly and efficiently, sometimes under pressure
· Flexible- willing and able to change working hours at short notice, cover for colleagues should they have to self-isolate and be contactable in an emergency
· Willingness to learn and develop
· Able to Drive

· Good intercultural awareness and communication skills
· Similar interests, especially in subjects such as medical/disabilty, crafting, gardening etc
· Similar age range
· Ability to communicate in BSL or Makaton (or willingness to learn)
