I am a Male full-time wheelchair user with 24-hour high dependency care needs. I am looking for one full-time or two part-time Care Assistants to join my established team of Employees who provide complex personal care and independent living support, which includes driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle to assist me to live an active and fullfiiled life.

Candidates ideally will live in Gravesend, Northfleet or Dartford and must be able to work in a flexible manner, by which I mean able to work a mixture of morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts each week.

A minimum of one years previous relevant experience is preferred, however, this is not essential because extensive 'Person-Specific' Spinal Cord Injury aftercare shadow shift training is provided on commencment of employment.

The personal care involves moving, handling, transferring and positioning (using a mobile hoist, sliding sheet etc.) and the provision of physiotherapy / passive limb movements for which training is also provided.  A good state of physical health and stamina is therefore needed to manage the physical aspects of this job role.

This is a unique opportunity to support a physically disabled person to live independently in the local community, and to live the best quality of life possible in difficult personal circumstances, which can be very rewarding and provide job satisfaction, and the opportunity to learn new care skills to add to your portfolio.

Some of the Healthcare Assistants I have employed have worked for me for in excess of 30+ years, which I feel reliably demonstrates that I am a good employer to work for! :)
