I am a Male full-time wheelchair user with 24-hour high dependency complex care needs, and I require one full-time or two part-time Female Care Assistants (Personal Assistants) to join my established team of Female only employees who provide assistance in all areas of my complex personal care and independent living support needs, including driving my wheelchair accessible vehicle to assist me to live an active and fullfiiled life.

Candidates ideally will live in Gravesend, Northfleet or Dartford and must be able to work in a flexible manner, by which I mean able to work a mixture of morning, afternoon, evening and overnight shifts each week. Shift patterns differ from week to week.

For example:  A full time employee might work two full day shifts (i.e. a  morning + afternoon shift combined) plus a morning only shift, plus an evening and overnight shift combined, which equates to 4 working days and three days off per week. The posts advertised usually only require working one overnight shift per week.

A minimum of one years previous relevant experience is preferred, however, this is not essential because extensive in-house, and external sourced certified, Spinal Cord Injury aftercare training is provided.

This is a physical job role that involves moving, handling, transferring and positioning using hoists, sliding sheets etc, and provision of daily physiotherapy / passive limb movements etc., and as such this job role requiries a good state of physical health and stamina to undertake.

The person specific nature of the job role also dictates the need for confidentiality, commitment, communication and mutual trust and respect are all essential.

Some of my current  team of Healthcare Assiistants have been employed by me for 30+ years, which I  feel reliably demonstras that I am a good employer to work for! :)

My team of employees are required (between them) to work extra hours to cover other employees shifts during holiday periods, sickness leave and unforeseable emergency circumstances etc., sometimes at short notice.

This is a unique opportunity to support me, a serverely physically disabled person, to live independently in my own home in the local community, and to help me to overcome all of the barriers that hinder me trying to live the best quality of life possible in exceptionally difficult personal circumstances, which can be very rewarding and provide job  satisfaction to genuinly caring candidates, and provides the opportunity to learn new complex care, and new non complex care skills to add to your portfolio.
