I am a 32 year old lady living in my own home, I have complex medical needs and physical disability including autism, intestinal failure and am an electric wheelchair user. My conditions mean I require care from others 24/7, but like you I want a normal life, I enjoy spending time with my family, my pet tortoise and doing my hobbies such as fused glass or knitting!
If you work for me you will become an integral part of my life, you will work closely with me following my direction doing tasks I can no longer do myself, and assisting me in others, you will not only be my carer but my friend and someone I can talk to.
My medical needs may seem overwhelming but shifts are enjoyable and varied from going some medication and personal care, to having a chat, watching funny videos, doing some crafting or baking etc.
For this role you need to have experience of working in Complex Care- Experience with Stoma Care, SPC Catheter, PEGJ tubes as a minimum is desirable plus experience of TPN or home IVs is highly sought.

Hours Available
I’m seeking a PA to cover any of the following hours:
Sunday 1100-1700 - Regular Shift (Alternate Sundays) (2 shifts per month)
Bank Staff - Plenty of Opportunities to take up shifts each month within your availability.
Please indicate which hours you are interested in in your application. You will still be expected to be flexible and cover for colleagues when necessary.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assistance with all aspects of personal care e.g. wash/dress, stoma & catheter care etc
- Assistance with medical tasks such as clinical observations e.g. blood pressure
- Assistance with preparing and administering medication via JEJ tube and care of tube.
- Assistance with IV nutrition & hydration plus IV meds (TPN) [TPN Nurses Do This - Help passing Items]
- Maintaining a habital home environment e.g. domestic tasks
- Assistance to access social environment.
- Assistance when working [I run a online handmade buisness & am a BSL interpreter when well enough]
Person Specification
I am looking for someone who has an excellent grasp of English and is able to communicate well. You should be able to work under your own initiative and able to work quickly when needed. You should also have good attention to detail as often medical tasks can need a lot of attention. Ideally you will be able to drive, be flexible, reliable, respectful, sensitive and friendly. Similar interests are a bonus and experience of IV nutrition/BSL or Makaton are also a plus.
