I am a 60-year-old man living independently in Bristol with Multiple Sclerosis. I enjoy computer science, music, travel, watching films and nature programmes. I am looking for a kind, reliable and caring Personal Assistant.
This is much more than a caring role. It's an opportunity to build a one-to-one working relationship, supporting me to live as independently as possible and continue enjoying the things that matter to me.
Whether you already have care experience or are someone with the right attitude who is willing to learn, I'd love to hear from you. If you're patient, dependable, respectful and have a positive outlook, you could be a great fit.
Hours
6 guaranteed hours per week to start, with the possibility of additional hours in the future.
Preferred working pattern:
- Monday – Flexible
- Tuesday – Flexible
- Wednesday – Flexible
- Thursday – 3 hours
- Friday – 3 hours
The exact days (where flexible) and start and finish times can be agreed with the successful applicant.
About the Role
Your duties may include:
- Providing personal care when required, including assistance with washing and dressing.
- Supporting me with light household tasks such as laundry, cleaning and keeping my home tidy.
- Shopping and helping with meal preparation.
- Driving me to appointments.
- Helping me maintain my independence while respecting my choices and routines.
About You
Ideally you will be:
- Kind, caring and compassionate.
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Patient and able to work on your own initiative.
- A good communicator with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Comfortable providing personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
- A confident driver with a full driving licence (preferred if driving is required).
