Personal Assistants for a gentleman P/T @ £11/hr in Southport- FTE - £22,880 - SOUTHPORT - PR8

Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant who will work part time (16-20 hours per week) on a permanent contract. The pay per hour for this role is £11.00. As the role of the health care assistant, you will work specifically with 1 gentleman with a spinal cord injury, meeting his daily needs within his home.
We are looking for a looking for a member of staff who is caring, reliable and adaptable to meet the daily individual needs.  
The post holder will work with guiadance and supervision from the gentleman's and his wife to learn his daily routine. Colaborative working will also be provide to support your invidual needs from health care professionals such as the spinal injuries unit and the moving and handling team to ensure policies and procedures are being met.
Main duties of the job
⦁ Assisting with the morning and evening routine; hoisting, personal care
⦁ Assisting with making breakfast
⦁ Enuring cleanliness of the surrounding environment
⦁ Ensuring appropraite stock is in place to meet the individuals needs.
About us
I am a 60 year old gentleman living in my home with my wife. I sustained a spinal cord injury 38 years ago therefore I have an established daily routine and will be able to provide all of the support required to ensure my needs are being met.
Qualifications
Essential
⦁ Demonstrates a basic understanding of the needs of the patient and the role of the HCA
⦁ Willing to learn and develop skills and competency relevant to the role e.g
⦁ Ability to communicate effectively via telephone I.e when ordering appropraite stock
⦁ Good interpersonal skills
⦁ Participate in the care of equipment I.e cleaning 
⦁ Undertake stock control
⦁ Willingness to work flexibly
⦁ Disclosure and Barring Service Check required - this can be undertaken at a point of job offer
⦁ Can work to a high standard of care under supervision.
⦁ Punctual, effective time management and organisational skills.
⦁ Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions.
⦁ Proficient & accurate in record keeping.
Desirable
⦁ Ability to handle moving and handling equipment I.e hoist
⦁ Fitness to do the job within manual-handing policy
⦁ Have the Care certificate or NVQ level 3
⦁ Experience with spinal cord injury clients
⦁ Experience as HCA or health support worker within a health care setting and/or primary care.
