I have multiple chronic conditions, limited mobility. I have a younger head in an older body.
9 and a 1/4 hours a week . £13 per hour To go up in April 2026.
Also to help out with casual/bank hours is essential.Although I am looking for a bank/casual PA.
Please state what your preference is when applying.
Mornings mainly, but not too early. Occasional split shifts.
Various days arranged in advance to suit us both.To work alongside my PA who does the rest of my allocated hours.
To include social time,to support me doing hobbies,shopping etc, Crafting workshops, As part of my 6 hours for social allocated hours.
Duties - various but including some of these at different times depending on my needs.
Sometimes to assist with personal care when I am unable to move at times.
Shower help if required. I have a wet room. Empty the commode and bins.
Help with hair, blow dry and upper body dressing. Socks and shoes at times.
Make the bed/change the bed as required (weekly usually).
Put washing on the airer and fold up if necessary.
Carry things for me, to my mobility car or garden, to one room or another.
Help with putting my mobility scooter up or down if needed
Tidy sofas, pick up dropped things.
Things I can not do or reach. I have limited upper body reach.
Help with preparing vegetables opening jars packaging.
Medication reminders.
Mental health support,so an understanding of mental health problems would be useful.
Additional Requirements/Information
Prefer someone who has worked in a care setting, empathetic and an understanding of depressive disorders.
Someone with a good sense of humour.
Also I don’t like people rushing around due to balance and cognitive issues.
Some memory problems (not dementia).
I have a motability car so unless you live in the West Pelton area a car driver would be useful.
Visiting local shops with me as I can’t do my scooter.Other shopping trips out too.Help with craft workshops,that I enjoy.
Other help as required. Help with cleaning. Putting washing out in the summer.I can do limited housework but I do like to give it a go.
DBS check is required (cost will be covered by the employer).Current employer references too.

I have a young dog, So a dog friendly person is essential.
I need someone who is not going to expect me to put her in another room..she lives here and has free run of the house.

This position is paid 4 weekly by direct payments Durham county council. On PAYE. Not on a self employed basis.
