Personal Assistant required to support a 7 year old boy who lives in Sherburn Village - Durham - DH6

The child in question is Autistic and requires support which focuses on person-centered care, communication support and sensory friendly routines and activities he enjoys.

Rate of Pay
£13.50 per hour

Hours

To provide support during weekends and during school holidays, dates and times to be negotiated / flexible (4 hours per week term time / 6 to 12 hours per week during school holidays).

The role is to provide safe, tailored support to help him develop life skills, maintain predictable routines, and engage in daily and social activities.
This could be initially in conjunction with the child’s parents and then typically on a one to one basis, within the community.

It would be preferred that the successful applicant have some experience with Autistic children, however the important attributes of the Personal Assistant are to be caring, friendly and patient as well as being flexible.

Access to a car with a full driving licence would be preferred for purely logistical reasons, and to enable access to activities within the community.
A mileage allowance will be included at £0.55 per mile - details can be discussed at interview.

N.B An enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
