🌸 About Me
I'm a friendly, cheerful and independent 47-year-old woman with Cerebral Palsy who uses a powered wheelchair. I live independently in my own adapted bungalow in Canterbury and employ a small, friendly and supportive team of Personal Assistants.
My Cerebral Palsy affects all four of my limbs, which means I require physical support with all aspects of my daily living, including personal care, mobility, household tasks and accessing the community.
Although I need physical support, I make my own decisions and self-direct my care. I’m looking for someone who will take the time to get to know me, listen to my preferences and work alongside me in a supportive and respectful way.
I'm an organised and approachable employer who values kindness, mutual respect, teamwork and open communication. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the cinema and theatre, eating out, shopping, and attending charity meetings and events. No two days are ever the same, making this a varied, rewarding and enjoyable role where you'll be enabling me to live the life I choose.
I'm looking for a supportive, reliable and enthusiastic female Personal Assistant to join my team in a unique 1-1 person-centred role supporting me to live independently in my own home and in the community.
✨ No previous care experience is required – full paid training and shadow shifts are provided.
🕒 Shift Pattern
The role consists of one 10-hour day shift (8:00am–6:00pm) and one sleep-over night shift (6:00pm–8:00am) each week on a set two-week rolling rota.
Rotas are planned and issued at least four weeks in advance to help you plan your work-life balance.
There may will be also be opportunities to work additional hours to cover annual leave and sickness within the team, subject to your availability. Flexibility to provide occasional cover would be greatly appreciated.
