Personal Assistant (PA) – Support Worker for teenager Leeds 25 8 hours per week £13.23 ph - Leeds - LS25

Hours: 8 hours per week split equally between Monday & Friday. Additional hours may be available on either day. DBS/right to work will be completed prior to starting the role and two references taken up. 
Training is available for the employee - 
Car driver would be beneficial but if not public transport can be used 

Rhys is 16 and has special needs due to his medical history since being a toddler. He has had brain operations in the past and this means he has a slow processing speed and autism. He is mobile and can do things for himself such as go to the toilet and keep himself clean etc. That said, he is partially sighted as he has no field of vision to the left side but he is able to walk around and navigate without being led. He may need some help to avoid danger on busy roads etc. Rhys is quiet but will have conversations with people. 

 

Rhys is shy and avoids busy environments with lots of people around although we are trying to help him get used to this so he can get into work. 

 

He can undertake tasks under instruction and we are preparing him for the working world over the next few years.

 

Rhys loves animals (especially his pet fish and chickens) and being outdoors so he would really enjoy trips to pet shops, farms etc. He likes activities like paddleboarding, swimming and canoeing. 

Previous experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential, as the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are the most important qualities.
