🌟 Personal Assistant/Enabler Wanted – Help an Energetic 8-Year-Old Boy Enjoy School Holiday Adventures 🌟
💙 Do you enjoy making a positive difference to children and their families?
We are looking to recruit a caring, patient and reliable Personal Assistant/Enabler to support an 8-year-old non-verbal boy with Global Developmental Delay, who presents developmentally as a much younger child.
😊 This lovely little boy has a cheeky smile and a happy disposition. He communicates his interests by leading others to things he enjoys, which are often sensory-based activities, and by pointing to what he wants. At times, he can become frustrated and may communicate this by screaming.
🎨 🚶♂️ 🌳 The role involves supporting him to access activities in the local community during school holidays. He requires constant supervision as he has no awareness of danger and can move very quickly when something captures his attention. Although he has low muscle tone and may occasionally use a pushchair when out and about, he is an active child who enjoys exploring his surroundings.
A key part of this role is being able to follow his lead in play and engage him in activities that interest him. The successful candidate will have strong play skills and be able to adapt activities, redirect attention and use distraction techniques when required, helping him to remain regulated and enjoy positive experiences.
There will be some personal care responsibilities within this role. Applicants must have a background in supporting children with SEND and be confident meeting the needs of children with additional support requirements.
Paediatric First Aid training would be beneficial, although training can be provided for the right candidate. As he is at risk of choking whilst eating, a vigilant and attentive approach is essential.

💷 Rate of Pay
£14.67 per hour
🕒 Hours Available • 10 hours per week during the summer school holidays
• 7 hours per week during all other school holidays
• Weekday hours only
• Flexible arrangements to be agreed between the successful applicant and employer
