Job Purpose: Social care opportunity has become available as a Personal Care Assistant, for a 28-year-old gentleman who has physical disabilities, slow speech, and is severely sighted.

You will be responsible for supporting the gentleman with his day-to-day morning tasks, and the key responsibilities will include:
 
Personal Care –
Assisting with toileting, showering (when needed), and getting up in the mornings.

Moving and Handling – Using hoist and moving safely in the wheelchair.
 
Meal preparation – Making and feeding him breakfast

Location: Wymondham, NR18

Person specification: Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. Essential requirements:

- Experience with personal care
- Experience with moving and handling and using a hoist.
- Experience working with someone with physical disabilities
- Patient
- Reliable
- Trustworthy

- Has a good sense of humour
- Outgoing
- Understanding of the gentleman's needs

Summary terms and conditions:
· The rate of pay for this position is £15ph

· Hours and times of work: Three mornings a week 7:30am-9:30am.

- Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.

- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

- Access to free training for employed workers.

- If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.

- The post is subject to the following:
-A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. 

- Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.

- Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
