• Assisting with my weekly food shop and other occasional shopping.
• Food preparation including cooking hot meals.
• Supporting me to access hobbies and activities such as book clubs, gaming, knitting/craft groups, and support groups, initially at home and then getting out and about as my health allows.
•  All aspects of household cleaning.
• Receiving callers to my home including taking deliveries, greeting workmen etc.
• Supporting me with caring for my cat and occasional vet visits.
• Supporting me with my household admin including making and taking phone calls, managing post, writing letters/emails, filing and taking notes during appointments/phone calls etc.
• Occasional gardening, for example of patio pots, minor weeding - no lawn mowing required.
• Any other reasonable duties as requested.

• Previous care/support work experience.
• Car owner with a clean driving licence and appropriate business use insurance.
• Able to cook a hot meal.
• Able to clean to a high standard, with excellent standards of hand hygiene.
• Ability to work around a shy house cat.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions.
• Respectful of my wishes.
• Friendly, calm and quiet manner.
• Very organised.
• Flexible with working hours.
• Someone with patience, compassion, and a positive attitude.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and respect my privacy at all times.
• Non-smoker.

• The pay rate for this position is £16.72 per hour. You will be paid double time for work carried out on a bank holiday.
• Hours and times of work:
  • Flexible hours, on average 17 per week (68 hours total every 4 weeks).
  • Exact times and days may vary depending on appointments but will generally be 3 to 4 weekday mornings (approximately 4 hour shifts) and several weekend or early evening shifts monthly. To be discussed further at the interview.
  • I will give reasonable notice on a week by week basis and considering any commitments. 
  • Opportunities to cover the absence of my other Support Workers.
• The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks. 

• A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
• Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.
• Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
