Job Description:  Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is advisable to refer to these when submitting your application and advise of the days/hours you are available.

I am looking for a reliable, calm and understanding Personal Assistant to support me both at home and in the community. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mental health support and an interest in helping others build confidence and independence.

I enjoy craft, wildlife and nature, and I value a quiet, steady pace. I appreciate having time to process conversations and quiet moments to let my brain settle. I value clear, limited choices when making decisions — rather than lots of questions or options. Your support will help me grow in independence and feel more confident at home and when out in the community.

Location: Dereham, NR20

Details:
·         Assist with meal planning and preparation, writing shopping lists, online food shopping, and/or visiting shops.
·         Help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment including organising, tidying, laundry and managing waste.
·         Provide support with post and emails, including checking for scams.
·         Offer assistance using IT, especially on days when this feels more difficult.
·         Encourage and prompt me to maintain personal hygiene routines, including showering and oral care.
·         Support me to access the community, including using public transport, visiting cafés, and engaging in activities that support emotional wellbeing.
·         Encourage and support me to pursue my interests (craft, wildlife, nature).
·         Provide gentle encouragement to build confidence when out and about.
·         Provide prompting and support to help me manage my medication routine.

Personal Specification:
Essential:
·         Experience supporting people with mental health difficulties, anxiety or neurodivergence.
·         A calm, reassuring personality.
·         Friendly, reliable and respectful of quiet working environments.

Summary Terms and Conditions:
·         The rate of pay for this position is £12.38 per hour
·         Hours and times of work as follows: 6.5 hours per week, ideally over three weekdays. Occasional flexibility may be helpful including weekends.
·         The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
·         Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.

The post is subject to the following:
·         A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
·         Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
