I am in my 40s with autism and have a learning disability. I love life and enjoy living in my own home. I'd like someone to work with me to help me remain independent.

I need help to manage finances and bills, read material and interpret most written information.

I need prompts to maintain my self care and assistance as necessary. E.g. clean my teeth, take me to the dentist.

I need prompts to keep my property clean and tidy and assistance as necessary. E.g. cleaning the bathroom and ktichen.

I need a lot of help to manage my laundry in the way of organizing loads of washing/drying which can need taking back and forth to laundrette. I need help to ensure laundry is dry and put away away in the right place.

I need assistance to help engage in events and activities and to help me get to and from events.

I need assistance with a weekly shopping budget and controlling spending with food shopping, e.g. prompting me to select healthy options, avoiding unnecessary goods like ornaments, and ensure I have enough food for the week. 

I can haud ornaments and other decorative items and need help to prevent me compulsively buying such things as cushions, lamps, pictures, and need encouraging to prevent the flat from becoming cluttered and unsafe.

I need assistance to put away shopping and manage sell by dates and food hygiene and keeping my fridge clean.

I need assistance to help me communicate verbally over the phone and in person when there's an issue. For example, a problem with my phone bill, or a repair to my flat.

I need help to keep safe on line and help with online forms, composing and reading emails.

I need help with managing cooking, reading labels and managing the cooking times of food and heat temperatures. E.g. for using my airfryer or oven.  I cannot use a microwave safely and do not have a microwave.

To meet my needs, I need someone with excellent communication skills with the patience and understand around my autism and learning disability. This means waiting for me to answer and find words to questions, to wait for me to get myself together before going out, chosing appropriate clothing for different seasons and reassuring me things are okay if I am stressed. I need someone who is good at using strategies to help me stay safe, for instance, avoiding me accessing large amounts of cash at one time and to support me to use money for food first, before ornaments.

If have a cat and need help to manage the cats health and wellbeing.

I would like someone to help me on Monday, Tuesday all day and again on Thursday from 3pm and Friday from 3pm. Weekends are also a possibility as I would like some assistance to go to the pictures or dancing in the evening.  

There is also scope to do more hours with me when I have holidays from work, when I have a full week free. I could also do any weekday evening for going out, not only weekends.

My favourite things to do are visiting airports, model planes, flying, cinema, dancing, live music, Shirley Bassey and theatre.  I enjoy sharing a meal and coffee with people, walking and cycling.
My least favourite thing is sport.
