I am a 27 year old female, living between the city centre NR2 and my parents house NR4, looking for a reliable and responsible PA to provide essential support for me to live independently. As my PA your role will be pivotal to maintaining my health and supporting me on my journey as a young person living with multiple complex health conditions. (listed below)

Job Description:
Essential daily/weekly tasks will typically include:
Tidying kitchen, meal preparation and cooking in accordance with a strict but simple medical diet, Food shopping/putting food into kitchen cupboards, light cleaning, changing bedding, hoovering, cleaning bathroom, wiping floors, laundry, folding, ironing, putting away, helping to maintain a clean, presentable and organised home. Providing transport to medical appointments.
Additional tasks may include:
- Providing care if/when I have a health relapse/flare (info and guidance on specifics will be provided), Providing transport generally, joining me in medical appointments to take notes and advocate, household administration (reviewing bills, electric, water etc), light medical administration, calling GP, advocating on my behalf.
About Me:
Despite my health circumstances, I have an outwardly looking, positive perspective on life and do my best to enjoy it, within the boundaries of my health. I am friendly and chatty and have a good sense of humour. I will enjoy getting to know you, however there will also be many times when I cannot talk and need to have quiet space, due to my symptomology.
I also enjoy listening to podcasts, art, nature and learning new things. I like learning about medicine, natural healing modalities, things I can do to benefit my own health.
Person specification
Essential:
- A willingness to learn about my health conditions (ME/CFS, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Histamine Intolerance, Osteoporosis, and Dysautonomia) - we can provide assistance to help you understand.
- Be sensitive to my physical needs, understanding my energy limitations and preferences for a quiet, calming environment
- Have an outgoing personality with patience, compassion, and a positive attitude
- Punctuality and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent time management skills
- Flexibility to cover weekends twice a year (with prior notice)
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Having first aid certification
Hours of Work:
8 hours per week with a schedule to be discussed at interview.
Rate of Pay:
17.57 - Self Employed
14.56 - Employed
Summary Terms and Conditions
Expenses
You will be reimbursed for any reasonable and pre-approved expenses incurred in the course of carrying out your duties. Where a personal vehicle is used to transport a service user and mileage reimbursement is to be claimed, this arrangement must be authorised in advance, documented within the service user's care plan, and processed in accordance with the organisation's payroll procedures.
Holiday Entitlement
Employees and workers in the UK are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks' paid annual leave per year on an FTE basis. Part time roles will be calculated pro rata. Self-employed individuals are not entitled to statutory paid holiday leave, and any time off is unpaid unless they make their own financial arrangements.
Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS)
This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be arranged and paid for by the employer. Where children under the age of 18 live in the household, the successful applicant will need an Enhanced DBS check that includes both the Adults' and Children's Barred Lists. In these circumstances, employment cannot commence within the family home until the DBS clearance has been received.

Probationary Period
This post is subject to a three month probation period. The three-month probationary period gives both you and your employer the opportunity to ensure the role is a good fit, identify any training or support needs, and settle into the working relationship.
Mandatory Training
Where the duties of this role include food preparation, moving and handling, the use of hazardous substances (including household cleaning products), or the handling of medication, you will be required to complete any relevant mandatory training and competency assessments.
