I am looking for a compassionate, reliable, and patient personal assistant to support me a friendly and outgoing lady living in the Norwich area. The role involves providing both practical assistance and companionship, helping me maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle.

A Bit About Me:

I am a straightforward, honest, and sociable individual who lives with a brain injury, mood instability, and an acquired learning disability. I value my independence, enjoy good conversation, have a great sense of humour, and appreciate people who are patient, understanding, and trustworthy.

 

Location: Norwich NR6

 

Job Description:

Accompanying me on outings such as shopping trips, visits to garden centres, eating out, visiting friends, and occasional train journeys (fare covered by me).

Assisting with dog walks for up to two emotional support dogs.

Providing physical support when required during walking.

Supporting with light housework and administrative tasks.

Accompanying the client to volunteering activities.

Offering empathy, friendly company and conversation

Encourage and assist me in becoming more confident with day-to-day activities.

Any other reasonable duties as requested.

 

Person specification

 

Essential:

The ideal candidate would require calming, reassuring, caring, and patience.

The person I employ must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work, including total respect for my privacy.

First Aid trained.

Very patient, empathetic, and flexible.

Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties.

Willing to work occasional bank holidays (to be agreed in advance).

Dog-friendly and confident around animals.

Honest, trustworthy, and strong communication skills.

 

 

 Desirable:

Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.

Open to travelling by train.

Has a good sense of humour and enjoys social outings.

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or learning difficulties.

 

 

 Summary terms and conditions 

The pay rate for this position is £12.38 per hour for employed PAs and £14.94 per hour for self-employed PAs.

Hours and times of work: 10.5 Hrs Per Week, Time discussed further at interview.

The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.

Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
