Personal Assistant for a family group of 3 teenagers living in DH8 area 18 hpw £10.50 ph - CONSETT - DH8

Personal Assistant required to support a lovely family group of three teenagers, a girl aged 15 years and two boys aged 16 and 17 who live in Consett, Co Durham.

My sons and daughter have FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) and live with developmental trauma due to their early life experience before they were adopted. I am looking for a kind, fun and compassionate person to spend time with them in our home with a view to getting out and about with them individually as and when possible. I need somebody who is trauma informed or at the very least interested in the impact of trauma on brain development as I will be able to provide full training around FASD, trauma informed care and all of their sensory needs. They are all physically able but emotionally their cognitive ages are a lot younger than their chronological ages.

18 hours per week £10.50 per hour
I am very flexible with the hours and we could discuss them should you be interested in working with us.

I am looking for someone with a sense of humour and a very calm nature to be in the home with any mixture of my children to help them to socialise and access life. They are unable to access full time education so I am looking for someone to either be in the home to replace me to allow me to shop, work (I am self-employed and work from home mostly) and do things with any one of them, knowing the others are taken care of at home.

I am in a position to provide full training on FASD, Trauma, Sensory needs and lots more but this could be done on the job as no specific training is required with regards to any physical or medical needs that they have.

Ideally, I am looking for someone who has experience with trauma informed care and confidence in dealing with teenagers.

I need someone with transport but costs would be covered for fuel as and when needed.

There would be no requirement to provide any care in your own home

 An Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost
