Can you spare 4 hours on a weekday during NON term time (school holidays) to support Sam (age 14) to access activities within his community using public transport?
A PA is required in the Leeds LS6 area to support Sam, who has a diagnosis of Autism, social and communication difficulties as well as Hypermobility in accessing his local community. He likes to visit the local park to go on walks and travel by public transport on trains and busses. He requires support with personal care needs, for example, toileting, dressing, and assistance with feeding. Sam is cheerful and energetic and must be looked after every second when outside due to less or no sense of danger and road safety.
Sam requires a PA for a total of 4 hours a week during term time only which will be worked flexibly on weekday evenings. The working days can be flexible, however, Sam likes to have a routine and therefore punctuality and stability are essential in this role. Experience working with children and young people is important for Sam.
Basic knowledge, experience and support strategies of SEN is essential in the following areas: Thinking, understanding and learning, Emotional and behavioural difficulties, Speech, language and communication, Physical or sensory difficulties.
Rate of pay: £10.50 per hour
Holiday Entitlement
You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks each year pro-rata. You will be required to give at least two weeks' notice for any holiday required so that alternative arrangements can be made.
