Job Purpose
To provide personal and social support to enable the employer, a wheelchair user, to live independently and stay active in the community. The role focuses on accessing activities, sports, social events, and essential outings.
About the Employer
I’m a 29-year-old full-time wheelchair user living in Withernsea and working full-time for the NHS. I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy football, music, gaming, travelling, and playing wheelchair basketball. I regularly go to the gym, swimming, and the local sports centre.
I require support with driving, accessing the community, attending social activities, and help with my wheelchair when entering/exiting the car and using ramps. I’m looking for a friendly, reliable Personal Assistant who can support me in staying active and independent.
Main Duties
Community & Activity Support
- Support with going to the gym, swimming, and wheelchair basketball
- Helping pack/unpack the car and loading/unloading the wheelchair
- Assisting with ramps and safe access in/out of the vehicle
- Support with attending social events, gigs, and trips out
Practical Support
- Help with shopping and essential errands
- Occasional assistance with appointments
- Some driving support
- Basic support with food/drink preparation
- IT help when assistive tech isn’t compatible

- Access to a car (over 25s can use the wheelchair-accessible car while working)
