L is verbal but has limited communication skills. He loves Lego, trampoline, washing machine and hand driers. Sometimes I take him to Flip Out or swimming pool.
Main duties:
1.Taking him out to the community(playground/park/supermarket/library etc), encouraging communication and social interaction;
2. Staying at home with him, playing Lego/other activities, and building life skills eg:cooking and tidying up;
3. Taking him to Flip Out(in LS14), cinema and local swimming pool(desired).
Requirements:
1. Experience of working with children with autism would be beneficial, but most essentially, we’re looking for someone kind, reliable and motivated.
2. Providing unconditional positive regard; a patient, gentle and understanding approach to tune in and help him engaging activities;
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
4. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance(desired).
Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
Rate: £13.23 per hour + holiday pay.
Working hours: 4-8 hours/week and 2 extra during school holidays. Mornings.
