Job title: Personal assistant (PA) Reporting to: Charlotte

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist and support Charlotte to live her personal and social life
· To help Charlotte on an evening to maintain a routine around mealtimes and day to day tasks
· To help Charlotte feel calm and settled on an evening by supporting her to do activities she enjoys
About the employer:
Charlotte is a 35 year old female who lives independently close to Leeds city centre. Charlotte has many hobbies and interests including crafts, puzzles & board games, music, sports, baking, animals.
Charlotte is generally a warm and friendly person who enjoys the company of others but, can find it daunting to meet and get to know new people. It is important for Charlotte to build trusting relationships with the people around her and is an open and honest communicator, which she also values in others.
Charlotte has a diagnosis of autism. In addition, Charlotte struggles with an eating disorder, low mood & anxiety. Routine and structure really help Charlotte to get through the day.
Main duties:
· Encourage routine and structure in the evenings (For example, A restful activity, or household chores, before making a meal together)
· Offer emotional support, helping Charlotte to feel calm and regulated before the end of the day.
· Domestic duties, for example, support with grocery shopping, cooking and serving meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry. These duties may vary from day to day.
· Do hobbies such as crafts, games
· Attend social events at times, such as the cinema, parks
· Personal care: encouragement with showering, teeth cleaning, medication prompts, eating
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Charlotte is looking for a PA who is honest, reliable & punctual. A PA who is non-judgemental, a good communicator and able to build good relationship based on trust and respect. Someone who can be responsive to her needs, understanding & empathic with a willingness to learn.
It is important that the PA is able to maintain professionalism in their role.
It would be beneficial if the PA has an understanding of autism and eating disorders, but a willingness to learn about these is more important.
Due to the nature of this role providing one to one support, the employer will be considering female applicants only.
What you can expect to receive: Full training will be given, how they will be supported during their induction/first few weeks of working with you, access to other training opportunities will be provided. The four basic training courses we provide are below but we can look into more specific training courses if required also.

Hours of work:
Evenings 7 days a week, 2 hours, between 17:00- 20:00
Charlotte will be looking to hire at least 2 PAs, so on average this would be 7 hours a week TBC (This can be flexible, but consistency will be important)
Rate of pay:
Hourly rate for weekdays = £13.23
Weekends = £16.54:
Skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential: list the essential skills, qualifications and experience that personal assistants need to have, for example:
· Professionalism and Confidentiality
· Good at building relationships
· Good communicator- Open and honest
· Some knowledge, skills and experience of supporting people with mental health difficulties
· A willingness to learn
· Ability to support people with behaviours which could pose risk to herself
· Able to help deescalate situations which could lead to meltdown or crisis
Preferred: list the desirable skills, qualifications and experience that you would like your personal assistant to have, for example:
· Some experience or knowledge of supporting people with eating disorders
· Proactive and up for trying new things
