JOB TITLE Personal Assistant
HOURS 4 hours a week + additional 2 hours during school holidays
Rate of Pay £9.43
Probation period 3 months
LOCATION Our own home and in the wider community
The job role:
I am looking for a PA to support my son to get out in the community and access activities that he enjoys including going swimming, go to the park and also visiting the trampoline park among other places.
My son is autistic and it is important that you have some experience of supporting autistic children for this role. You should have an upbeat attitude to work and show patience, kindness and an understanding that my sons behaviour can at times be challenging.
You will be required to work unsupervised once you are settled in the role and are encouraged to use your initiative to suggest activities when and where appropriate.
Main duties:
My PA will be required to do the following tasks and may be asked to carry out other tasks of a similar nature:
- Support my son to access the activities he enjoys both in the community and at home e.g swimming
- Ensure he is safe and secure at all times
- Encourage him to try new activities as and when appropriate
Essential requirements:
· An understanding and previous experience with Autism and SEN experience.
· Flexibility towards planned activities
· Patience and tolerance to A’s interests and habits.
· Full clean driving licence and vehicle desirable but not essential (mileage reimbursed)
Any relevant experience will be considered if the skills can be applied to this role.
