I am seeking a dedicated and compassionate Self-Employed live-in care for a long-term commitment with the potential for extended duration, providing essential support to my husband. Your role will be essential in helping him engage in various activities that enhance his overall well-being. He had a brain aneurysm in June 2014, resulting in no short-term memory and an inability to perform certain tasks. Your role will involve offering companionship, assistance, and guidance to enhance his daily life.

Job: Self-Employed Live-in carer
Location: rural village, 10 miles from Norwich
Daily Break: 2 hours (times negotiable)
Salary: £1000.00 per week (no paid travel)
Responsibilities:
Assisting in getting out of bed in the morning and ready for the day ahead.
Support personal care routines, including washing, dressing, and managing toileting needs.
Assisting with evening routines, including washing, changing into night clothes, and getting into bed
Encouragement and support for me in completing tasks.
Provide gentle reminders for medication.
Meal preparation and kitchen tasks
Ensuring the home environment is safe, clean and hygienic.
Accompanying me to medical or hospital appointments and providing assistance with transportation.
Offering companionship and emotional support to enhance my general wellbeing.
Help and Support in and around the house.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Morning:
Prompt showering and dressing
Administer medication and prepare breakfast.
Short walk (weather permitting) or engage in activities like Rummikub, tablet use, cards, or sudoku.
Mid-morning coffee and biscuits, followed by a snack lunch.
Afternoon:
Carer break for 2 hours
Prepare dinner.
Repeat walks and engage in activities.
Dinner time
Evening:
Carer personal time for a shower, relaxation, or TV
Assist with the reclining chair for support.
Bedtime: administer the last medication and supervise getting undressed and into bed.
Weekly Outings:
Transport to Headway, a brain injury centre in Norwich (15 miles away).
Attend dentist and hairdresser appointments.
Visit a GP surgery (3 miles away).
Person specification
Essential:
Full UK driving license holder.
Clean driving license and Use of a manual car with TomTom for appointments
The ideal candidate would require a calming, reassuring manner and be Caring and Patience
Ability to prepare food.
Liking for dogs (we have a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel)
The person I employ, must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work including total respect our privacy.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.
Handling and care qualifications would be beneficial.
