To provide daily support for lady with Dementia

Central Norwich

I would like to employ 2 Personal Assistant/Carers to work on a job share basis for my elderly mother who has advanced dementia. She is mobile but remains in her bedroom and requires full support with personal care (bed wash, changing clothing, tidying hair), medication and meals. Because of her condition she needs her care to be provided precisely following guidance which we provide. She will comply with this very well however if asked whether she wants help would decline support and could become upset or aggressive. We hope that with the support of regular carers she will be comfortable and grow more able to accept the care she needs.

·       Well organised and reliable

·       Able to follow care instructions rather than ask service user

·       Female preferred due to personal care

·       Basic food preparation skills

·       Some experience of Dementia care an advantage

 

·       The rate of pay for this position is £11.68 per hour 

·       Hours and times of work: Total of 21 hours weekly : 2 hours in mornings and 1 hour in evening, over 7 days. Exact job share arrangements to be discussed at interview stage.

·       5.6 weeks per year pro-rata paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays

·       Free Careskills Training. 

·       A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

·       Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months
