Help make outings special: Personal Assistant needed in Hexham Area - 14.67ph - Hexham - NE46

Job Reference (f7dbb7a3)

From library visits and hot chocolate to colouring, puzzles and museum trips, could you help a young girl enjoy the activities she loves? A family in Hexham is looking for a caring, reliable Personal Assistant to join an existing worker in a shared support role. This is an employed position, not self-employed.
She is quiet, laid-back and easy-going, and enjoys returning to favourite books, visiting the Abbey Museum and occasionally going to soft play or bowling. School holiday outings may include the cinema, National Trust places, Seven Stories or the Centre for Life. Supporting meetups with a school friend is also an important part of helping her develop social connections.
She has a rare genetic condition affecting her learning, mobility and health, and uses a wheelchair for getting around.

Support includes personal care to keep her clean and dry, moving and handling, and safe administration of medication.

She uses oxygen at night only; a small oxygen cylinder must accompany her on outings outside Hexham.
You will need a patient, attentive approach, respect for her pace and preferences, and an understanding of safeguarding and hand hygiene. You should be willing to follow the Essential PA Guide and her agreed care arrangements.

Please apply through UKCIL, outlining your relevant experience, availability and ability to provide occasional cover.
