Friendly Female Personal Assistant Required | Cramlington | Supporting a Wonderful Young Woman
A caring, reliable and enthusiastic female Personal Assistant is required to support a lovely 16-year-old young woman living with her family in the Cramlington area.
The young lady has Autism, a hearing impairment and a severe learning disability. She is non-verbal and communicates in her own unique way, so we are looking for someone patient, understanding and compassionate who is willing to take the time to build a trusting and positive relationship with her.
She loves being out and about, exploring new places and taking part in fun activities within her local community. Her favourite activities include:
- Soft play and trampoline centres
- Amusement parks and local attractions
- Sensory play activities
- Arts, crafts, drawing and writing
The role involves providing companionship, encouragement and support, helping her enjoy the activities she loves while promoting confidence, independence and social opportunities in the community.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with Autism and learning disabilities
- Has experience supporting non-verbal individuals and understands different communication methods
- Is patient, kind and able to build trust over time
- Is willing to undertake relevant training if required
- Can provide support for 4 hours every fortnight on a Saturday
- Is female. This is a genuine occupational requirement due to the young lady requiring assistance and prompting with personal care and toileting.
Full training will be provided where appropriate through a combination of online learning, face-to-face training and practical demonstrations.
An Enhanced Children's DBS check will be required prior to employment commencing. The cost of the DBS will be met by the employer.
Hours: 4 hours every fortnight on a Saturday
