Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will support my daughter who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
This role involves:
- learn some basic kitchen safety skills
- be supported to prepare/ cook simple meals
- be supported to explore further work experience opportunities in the future
- be supported to access the community without her family
- be supported to attend local social clubs
- be supported to develop and maintain friendships.
About the employer:
My daughter has epilepsy and other disabilities, with this its very important for the support worker to be extremely patient with my daughter and provide encouragement when completing tasks.
We have other children in the home along with two cats.
My daughter hobbies include:
Bowling, cinema, arts and crafts, animals, acting/drama, swimming, music, singing, dancing, eating out
Qualities in a candidate
- Warm and friendly
- Able to use own initiative
- Happy, positive, and caring nature
- Positive and reliable
- Must be confident of using a wheelchair
- Essential potential PA speaks very clear English as my daughters concentration and understanding is quite limited
- Not essential to drive as my daughter has a bus pass
- Essential PA's have at least 4 years experience
The positions offers 10hrs per week term time and 15hrs per week during school breaks
Hours: Times and days will be discussed at interview, no weekends will be worked
