A lady in the Berwick area is looking for a committed care assistant to provide support to allow her to remain independent within her own home.
This is a Monday to Friday position.
The successful applicant must have a driving license and be willing to drive the client’s car.
The main tasks will include:
· support with basic morning routine & all aspects of personal care
· support to get up, shower & dress, apply creams and eye drops.
· sleep apnoea mask to be emptied & washed.
· support with breakfast, lunch and also make prep for evening meal
· essential bathroom & kitchen hygiene
During befriending time, the lady wishes to have accompaniment to go out for coffee, visit garden centres, access local attractions and on occasions have lunch out. The expectation is the employee will cover their own expenses during these occasions.
The ideal candidate will be happy with an outgoing nature, the ability to cheer the client up on their quieter days and have a positive outlook towards life. Somebody physically able to manage a wheelchair is essential as the client requires support when out in the community. Somebody willing to learn the ropes and then make themselves at home, completing tasks as appropriate and managing the job at hand with limited guidance would be preferred.
Rate of Pay: £11.91 per hour
Hours Breakdown:
Monday –
· 1 ½ hour AM
· 1 hour lunch
Tuesday –
· 1 ½ hour AM
· 1 hour lunch
· 3 hour befriending
Wednesday –
· 2 hour AM
· 1 hour lunch
· 1 hour tea
Thursday –
· 1 ½ hour AM
· 1 hour lunch
· 3 hour befriending
Friday –
· 1 ½ hour AM
· 1 hour lunch

Further Information:
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).
Training:
Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged, and the care worker will be expected to attend.
