Female Personal Assistants Required | Ponteland | Waking & Sleep-In Hours - Newcastle upon Tyne - NE20
Job Reference (aade647d)
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day?
I am looking to build a small team of caring, reliable and proactive Female Personal Assistants to support me in living life to the fullest while managing motor neurone disease.
I am 35 years old and live in Ponteland with my partner and our much-loved dog. I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking, cooking, meal prepping, and baking. Although I can be quite introverted, I have a dry sense of humour and enjoy a good laugh with the people around me.
I am keen to find Personal Assistants who share my positive outlook on life and can support me to remain independent, active, and involved in the things I enjoy.
About You
You will be:
- Friendly, approachable and compassionate
- Confident, reliable and trustworthy
- Proactive and able to use your own initiative
- Energetic enough to support an active lifestyle
- A dog lover
- A driver with your own vehicle initially
- Willing to drive a mobility vehicle in the future
- Looking for a long-term, rewarding role where you can build a genuine working relationship
What the Role Involves
You will provide practical support with everyday personal needs in a respectful and dignified manner, including:
- Assistance with daily living activities
- Support with showering, dressing and hair care
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Medication support
- Light household tasks
- Support to attend appointments and access the community
- Enabling me to maintain my independence
- Moving and handling support
- Providing companionship and encouragement to help me continue enjoying the activities I love
Hours of Work
Initial support hours will be:
- Monday to Friday: 1.00pm to 5.00pm and 8.00pm to 9.00pm
- Weekends: 12.00pm to 5.00pm and 8.00pm to 9.00pm
In addition, one overnight sleep-in shift per week will be required. These shifts will be arranged in advance when my partner is away from home.
There is excellent potential for additional hours over time as we develop an established and trusted working relationship. This role would therefore suit someone looking for regular hours with the opportunity to increase their earnings in the future.
Experience
Previous care experience is welcomed but is not essential. For me, finding the right person is more important than previous experience. If you are kind, dependable, willing to learn and committed to supporting someone to live independently, I would love to hear from you.
