A Personal Assistant is required to look after a 73 year old elderly woman, who has Alzheimer’s disease.
The Person has a complex medical history and requires either an experienced carer or someone who feels confident managing a person who has a combination of physical care needs and has limited capacity and comprehension. Despite being a dementia patient the Person is settled and calm and does not present challenging behaviour.
You will be supervised by the Main Carer and daughter of the Patient and will be required to look after the Patient in their home. Typical duties of the role will include:
• Monitoring the health of the Patient and reporting any concerns, changes in behaviour, or presence of symptoms to the Main Carer.
• Cooking or preparing meals and feeding or assisting the Patient with eating.
• Assisting the Patient when using the toilet and bathroom.
• Keeping the Patient company.
• Encouraging the Patient to exercise outdoors or indoors.
• Carrying out suitable activities in the home to occupy and engage the Patient
• Accompanying the Patient and family when attending medical appointments.
Please note: the role involves physical care and is not suitable for individuals who are unable to support the Patient with toileting, dressing and washing, as well as pushing the Patient in a wheelchair.
Weekly Hours: 15-40 hours PT/FT available
Hourly rate starting from: PAYE £15.80/hr Self-employed £18.19/hr
Work Schedule: Monday- Sun 11am-6pm (Please note that this is the range not the exact hours you would be required to work. The exact hours would be agreed with the successful candidate

- We expect the carer to respect personal possessions and to use any equipment only after being trained.
- The carer is required to update the Main Carer with any changes in their own health that may affect the Patient’s health, wellbeing, or safety.
- You are required to have the right to work in the UK
- You have the option to work within a PAYE or Self-employed contract
