We are looking for an experienced Female Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the BB10 area of Burnley. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client living with a learning and developmental disability and a diagnosis similar to Cerebral Palsy, to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home and the community. Our client is non verbal, but still enjoys being involved in conversation and has a wide range of interests, including arts & crafts, shopping, all things Disney and getting out and about locally.
The hours: 24 hours per week. There may also be the requirement for occasional additional ad-hoc hours.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You should be proactive, organised and able to arrange the day's activities with our client without direction. You must be self motivated, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with experience of:
- All aspects of Personal care
- Moving and handling including hoisting
- Support with food and fluid intake via Gastrostomy Tube (PEG)
- Medication preparation and administration
- Companionship and support with getting out into the community in wheelchair
- Household tasks including cleaning and housework
You should also have:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
