Complex Care PA/Nurse (Student HCP) Dewsbury 32yr Old Lady @£12.75hr (Fridays and/or Bank) - Dewsbury - WF12

We are seeking a new Complex Care PA to join my existing care team.  My name is Charlotte, im 32 years old and have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Autism, Intestinal failure & am and electric wheelchair user.
Due to my conditions I require 24/7 care. I live in my own home with my partner and pet tortoise. I am seeking a personal assistant to help me in every aspect of my daily life from getting washed and dressed, through medical tasks and working or enjoying hobbies.

For this role you need to have experience of working in Complex Care- Experience with Stoma Care, SPC Catheter, PEGJ tubes as a minimum is desirable plus experience of TPN or home IVs is highly sought.

Hours Available

I’m seeking a PA to cover any of the following hours:
Friday  09:30-1800 - Regular Shift
Bank Staff - Plenty of Opportunities to take up shifts each month within your availability.

.  You will still be expected to be flexible and cover for colleagues when necessary.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



I need assistance in all aspects of my life and this includes things such as : help getting up, showering/bathing, getting dressed/changing clothes, transferring to wheelchair, all other personal care including assistance with Ileostomy (stoma) bag, suprapubic catheter and PEG drainage bag, jej feed, TPN & IV fluids, meds etc. My condition causes a great deal of fatigue among other issues so I am not always able to get out of bed. I enjoys baking, crafting (sewing, knitting, glass, pottery etc), shopping, watching movies, growing plants and more.

·        Must be willing and able to follow my policy on illness & work eg. COVID or infections diseases
·        Excellent  level of spoken English
·        Good understanding of a PA’s role in enabling choice and control for disabled people
·        Excellent communication skills
·        Good hygiene standards -Keeping everything clean
·        Strong commitment to the principles of Equality and Diversity
·        Reliable, respectful,  discreet, sensitive, friendly, and pro-active in the role
·        Able to work quickly and efficiently, sometimes under pressure
·        Flexible- willing and able to change working hours at short notice, cover for colleagues should they have to self-isolate and be contactable in an emergency
·        Willingness to learn and develop
·        Able to Drive


Desirable

·        Good intercultural awareness and communication skills
·        Similar interests, especially in subjects such as medical/disabilty, crafting, gardening etc
·        Similar age range
·        Ability to communicate in BSL or Makaton (or willingness to learn)
