Childrens Clinical Care Assistant
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday- waking night shift 22.00 - 08.00.
Your hours would be fixed on a weekly rolling rota. All staff are expected to take turns to cover for staff holidays or emergencies. If the young person is ill, or in the school holidays you may also need to pick up extra shifts so we would require you to be flexible.
Staff will work the hours agreed per week and must be flexible to meet the young persons needs. At times you will be expected to support him away from the home, any travel expenses and costs associated with this will be reimbursed.
All staff must be over 18 years of age. You will be required to undertake a DBS check and provide proof of your right to work in the UK. You must complete shadow training with a senior clinical carer from the young persons team.
Job Description
You will be working as part of a small team to provide quality care and support to a young person in his home. Your role is to meet all of his clinical needs. You will need to be alert, calm and patient at all times. Experience of working with children with complex health needs is essential. You will need to be confident in all aspects of clinical care and have the ability to make clinical judgements.
Training and knowledge of oral suction, pump feeds, administration of oxygen, administration of medication including emergency epilepsy drugs, following medication charts and being able to accurately document care records is required.
