Care Assistant to support an 11 year old young man who lives in the Hutton Henry area.
He is visually impaired and has epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
He is a wheelchair user. And he does not communicate verbally, he communicates with body language.
Hours /Wage:
10 hours per week £ 10.50 per hour
2 hours per day during term time.
7.30 - 8.30am
4.00 - 500pm
!0 hours support during school holidays
Job share considered. If you are interested in the post but cannot do all the hours, please state on the application form how many hours you could do as these are flexible.
Duties:
Support is required before and after school of personal care which includes bathing. Hoist transfers required and one to one support whilst eating.
Administering medication via PEG.
Support during school holidays to assist the family with on-going therapies, to access the community and to provide support at home with his family and on days out whilst maintaining safety and providing an opportunity of experiences that are around his interests. This may include activities such as accessing local shops, walks and visits to parks and the beach. And Sensory based activities.
Some light domestic duties are included in this role.
Additional Requirements/Information:
This young man has epilepsy and training will be given to help manage his seizures.
An understanding of epilepsy and cerebral palsy would be preferred, although full training and supervision will be given. There is also the opportunity to attend a variety of training courses.
Applicants are preferred but not essential to have a full UK driving licence. There is access to a disabled access vehicle that can be used.
An Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost
