Care Assistant for an autistic man who is 41 with mild learning disabilities, he is living in the Castleside area of Consett, he is looking for a PA to support him on a Tuesday evening (approx. 4 hours) and also possibly up to 6 hours on a Saturday, this day can be flexible.
£13.00 per hour
Additional hours may be available to cover holidays and sickness.
The Personal Assistant (PA) will be required to support this man, who has interests in animation, drama, 60’s music and steam trains to access the community and social activities such as the library, shopping outlets and his social club.
Experience and an understanding of Autism would be desirable, but training will be provided if you are a suitable applicant as the important requirement would be for this man to feel comfortable with you.
Occasionally, the successful applicant may be required to provide a sit-in service, which might include the preparation of a light meal.
It is essential that the PA is a driver with a clean drivers licence, and also has access to a car.
A DBS will be required but this will be paid for by the employer.
