Location: Community-based
Hours: 3 × 30-minute drop-in visits per week (with flexibility for additional support if required)
Preferred days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Preferred times: Late morning to early afternoon (sleep routine can fluctuate)
About the Role
We are looking for a supportive, down-to-earth individual to work alongside a young adult, helping him build and maintain independence in everyday life. This is not a traditional “care” role — it’s about being a steady, consistent presence who offers gentle, practical support without taking over.
Support visits are short, relaxed check-ins focused on things such as keeping on top of life admin, maintaining daily routines, attending health appointments, and light support with keeping his living space organised. The emphasis is on collaboration, encouragement, and shared momentum rather than direction or instruction.
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For:
This role will suit someone who naturally comes across as a supportive ally rather than a formal carer. The person you’d be supporting values his independence highly and is unlikely to engage if he feels he is being “cared for” or treated as a vulnerable adult.
A calm, grounded, and genuine approach is essential. The right person will be able to:
Shared interests would be a real bonus, particularly:
A young male support worker may be a good fit due to relatability, but we welcome applicants of any background. The most important things are your attitude, interpersonal style, and ability to connect naturally.

Experience and Training
About the Person You’ll Be Supporting
You’ll be working with a young adult who is warm, friendly, and talkative, and who enjoys getting to know new people through conversation about his interests. He does best with gentle support that helps him maintain a steady baseline in daily life without feeling managed.
While he values freedom and independence, during more difficult weeks he can lose momentum, experience low mood, irregular sleep, or forget tasks. Your role is to be a consistent, reassuring presence — someone who helps him stay on track, reconnect with routines, and keep moving forward while respecting his autonomy.
