Care Assistant for a teenage boy living in Seaham area £10.50 per hour - SEAHAM - SR7

I’m looking to recruit a Personal Assistant for my 16-year-old Son who has a diagnosis of Autistic spectrum disorder and an associated significant learning disability.

This fun and rewarding role involves collecting my Son from home (Hawthorn Village) and supporting him out in the community in his chosen activities which include swimming, visiting various parks, kicking a ball with him, supervising at trampolining, visits to the beach, bowling, cinema and occasional visits to McDonalds and sweet shops etc.  This will help increase my Son`s confidence, further develop his social and independence skills, help keep him active and afford him some time away from his family (and computer!!). 

My Son is a sociable young man with a good sense of humour and is very caring.

The person I’m looking for ideally will have some SEN experience, be competent in effectively working with people with communication difficulties, be reliable, trustworthy, proactive, physically active, engaging with a calm and caring disposition.  You should be confident in your ability to manage a sometimes stubborn teenagers behaviour!

An owner/driver is essential for this role.

This is a permanent position for 7 hours per week at weekends which increases to 14 hours per week during school holiday periods. I’m flexible around days/times.

Rate of pay is £10.50 per hour.

A DBS is required and the cost is fully covered by employer.
